I got this game for Christmas in 05, and to this day I can honestly say this is still my overall favorite shooter. The single player is fantastic, with intense levels like Pointe du Hoc; the multiplayer is addictive, with simple a simple weapon use (I like create a class but it's always easier to just select and use a stock weapon), and it had some of the best clan and/or single person-ran dedicated servers and user made maps I have ever played.

This is my favorite FPS of all time, bar none - Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, etc all the way thru Modern Warfare 2. The game is thoroughly enjoyable and a fantastic multiplayer game online. None of the ridiculous unlocking perks/weapons required of newer games. If you've never tried it, you have no excuse at this price.

I purchased COD 2 as a replacement for the original COD2 I purchased,this game installed without incident,but;
This game is corrupted,I get rainbow color flashes while I play the game,no matter what level the game is in,I contacted the seller regarding an exchange replacement,and to date I have not heard anything from this seller.
My advice is to not buy PC games from this seller.

This game is really great, with not too much help, the game works on
XP, Vista, and even the new windows seven. However, for some odd reason, the installer has to sometimes be hunted down in the files of the CD to run in vista/windows 7. In those versions you also have to have both headphone and mic jacks plugged into something for it to run (even if they are both headphones). This Game is really great and the graphics work really well provided you got a good card. Single player is great, although it can be ridiculous about how many shots it takes to kill someone. I would rate Single player a 3.5 star (out of five). The only reason of the game lasting so long is its kick-butt multilayer. Google "the82ndAB" and you will find a really great realistic tactical server for Call of duty 2. With a reasonable speed internet, and a good graphics card and hard drive, you get a really nice World war two game with people on around the clock (with the exception of 6am...) This is really great and what causes me to give this 5 stars.
P.S. The only reason we have not moved on is the fact that this is WW II. Not some mordern stuff.
PPS. With windows seven, to start single player, type "call of duty 2" into the search box after clicking the start button. Then Click "Call of duty 2 single player"

At least on mine I was surprised this game on the XP has no support for game controller and i have the generic one the MS 360 one which is pretty mainstream. Fiddling with the keyboard to play a war game is... TOTALLY UNACCETPABLE.
I wasted my [...]. I should return it 'cause its no game without a game controller.
Disappointed at this and it looks such a good game.
