2 out of 5 stars Boring!   June 19, 2010
Floralia (Austin, TX United States)
I purchased this MCF game after playing and enjoying two others, Ravenhearst and DireCroft. Big mistake. I expected the same type of layout, this time wandering through a carnival, solving a mystery. There may be a mystery, but you don't do anything to solve it other than hidden object board after hidden object board, with word puzzles thrown in. I kept clearing scene after scene after scene, hoping to get to a point where some logic and sleuthing would be required. Nope. The end of level puzzles were at times rediculously cryptic, while others almost too easy. I wish I could get my money back for this one. If the hidden object boards frustrated/bored you in other MCF games, by all means do NOT get this one, since 80% of it is just that.

1 out of 5 stars Beware - Very creepy!   April 16, 2010

I have loved every Mystery Case Files ever made, and get very excited when a new one comes out. I purchased Madame Fate, and although I think it is designed well, and is fun to play, I was TOTALLY CREEPED OUT by the the dead, bloody clown in the cage, the comments from the Madame, and the overall vengeful serial killing spree theme. Halfway through the game I had to delete it from my computer because it was just too creepy. I didn't want it in my house! And I've never deleted a game before that I had paid for.

I would like to share with the creator to PLEASE not make the next MCF so evil and creepy. I know some people probably like that, but in order for it to have more overall appeal, I don't think it's necessary to get so DARK. For example, Dire Grove was great! Thanks for the great games!

4 out of 5 stars Can be VERY challenging   February 1, 2010
J. H.
I played this game as a joint effort with my husband, and at times we needed both brains to solve the puzzles at the end of each level. That aside, the graphics are creepily beautiful, and the hidden object screens are very challenging. I have yet to try and solve the entire game on my own, but it's a great game if you're a hidden object fan and want a challenge.
