Bad game. Worse support. Misleading charges. June 26, 2010 Neil Fusillo (Atlanta, GA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this because it was supposed to come with 2 free months of gameplay -- plenty of time to discover if this game might be fun to play. It was not. It was a pretty boring game. But what's worse is, they charged me for play the DAY I started playing. No free months. When I called to complain, they told me I didn't get the free play because I already had an everquest 2 account. Pardon? I'd never played EQ2 in my life. They insisted. They refused to refund my charge, but gave be an extra month of play to account for it, not that I wanted it.
After 2 months, I cancelled my account.
In April, I was charged again. And in May. And in June. I didn't notice this immediately, but when I did, I called to find out what happened, and was told my account was active again. I cancelled AGAIN, but they would not refund the money. I've now issued a chargeback to the bank, but all told, this game has cost me $55 just to own (not including the price of the box, which was only $10 when I got it on a lightning deal). All told, playtime was about 6 hours.
I'd heard nightmare stories of Sony Online Entertainment before, but had simply chalked them up to bitterness or people misunderstanding things. This, however, has reinforced those stories with firsthand experience. Never again. Steer VERY clear of any game run by Sony. Your wallet will regret it if you don't.
Not complete anymore April 10, 2010 E. Thompson (Long Beach, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I recently purchased this I didn't realize that Sony includes the full game with every new expansion. So really, the latest "Sentinel's Favorite" expansion is now the real complete collection. This one is cheaper and includes 60 days instead of 30 so I'm not regretting my purchase. One thing to be aware of is that if you have been playing the 14-day demo and intend to use that account Sony might subtract those days from the free 60. Kind of sneaky. Anyway I suggest creating a new account to avoid problems and getting the full 60 days.
On-line game April 6, 2010 Myron Shlapak (USA) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is an ON-Line game. When I purchased it the write-up indicated that it coukld be played off-line. That is not true. I gave it to someone that likes playing on-line games.
Fun Game January 2, 2010 Stumped 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Overall the game is pretty good. It's come a long ways since launch and SOE has made some great improvements. This particular version is nice as it comes with 60 days for free, so if you're debating joining the EQII world, this would be a good version to buy!
Careful December 13, 2009 Matthew T. Howell (Wooster, OH; USA) 4 out of 9 found this review helpful
Before buying this product...Which is all that its touted, I'm almost sure. Make sure you don't have a SOE Account. If you do, don't expect to get the 2 months of free play. Although both the box and description on here mention nothing of the sort. If you currently have an SOE Account, even if it's not active, you aren't eligible for the free months of play.
