Great buy May 8, 2010 Samer Kandalft (ON, Canada) The product is very good. It leads you step by step to get your income tax done. It's more informative than the people whom you pay them lots of money to do your tax. I ordered this CD and I received it after 5 days. It's great.
Very helpful April 12, 2010 Joanne Very helpful; however, you should know what you're doing. The software cannot think for yourself!
QuickTax is easy to use and made sure I did not make any mistakes March 25, 2010 Coral Beauty I used the online version of QuickTax this year. I liked how it asked me questions and gave me the definitions of important words and terms. I had a few new things on my return this year and it helped me to understand what those were and if I could deduct them. It took the information from last year and put it on this year's return. I had a bit of trouble with losing some information I entered because I did not save my return before closing my browser. When I went back in I had to re-enter that data. But it did highlight a few items that I would not have thought to claim myself - moving expenses for my husband moving for his job and public transit passes. What is saved me with these two items far outweighed the cost for our two returns of $34. All in all it was really easy to use and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to make sure they have not missed anything.
QuickTax no help here March 19, 2010 Christopher Spratt (Victoria, BC, Canada) Product came without the 21 digit installation code, thus wouldn't load. Phoned help line at Intuit (the maker) no help. Wouldn't send me code. Suggested I buy another copy. After many frustrating emails back and forth to an unhelpful Intuit, I returned the program to Amazon, who promptly sent me another copy (with key code this time). Amazon even paid return postage!
Program does work now, but too expensive for what you get. Intuit help support line is actually no help. Intuit's product packaging needs better quality control to ensure the buyer does receive an installation code with the CD.
I really wish I hadn't used QuickTax March 3, 2010 EB (Montreal, QC) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
QuickTax is worse and more expensive than ever. It gave me much grief this year. I recommend strongly that you look elsewhere. Really. It's "help" feature has never been good. It relies on a "community" of users who basically vent at each other about how lame it is. But this year was special. This year it generated redundant forms for my business, and then applied them to my Federal and Quebec returns. And if you try to override any of the results caused by their bugs, they won't let you use Netfile. But it mysteriously decided that a capital cost allowance on a laptop was worthy of being duplicated in its own business form, even though it was already on the correct business form. Oh, it also decided the apartment that I'm renting is a rental property that I own, and it generated forms for that too. And their "donation optimizer" really sucks. And I could go on, but I won't. Please buy something else. Really. I'm trying to help you. If your tax situation is simpler, it might actually work, but UFile or some other competitor would probably work too, and cost you less.
